The fundamentals of marketing

Marketing encompasses the strategies and tactics brands use to promote their products and services to consumers. “Marketing refers to activities a company undertakes to promote the buying or selling of a product or service. Marketing includes advertising, selling, and delivering products to consumers or other businesses.”

Marketing is the process of planning and executing the conception, pricing, promotion, and distribution of our ideas, goods, or services to fulfill the needs of consumers, organizations, and businesses. Marketing starts before creating the product, it starts with understanding the customer and customer’s needs. Marketing is nothing but the aspect of strategy that We always have a focus on satisfying the customer’s current and future needs also. Marketing is about sending the right message, to the right person at the right time.

Let’s start with some basic marketing principles.

The four Ps of marketing

The 4 Ps of marketing is marketing is a concept that summarizes the four basic pillars of any marketing strategy.

The four Ps of marketing are:

·      Product: What you sell. Could be a physical good, services, consulting, etc. The product is either a tangible good or an intangible service that seems to meet a specific customer need or demand. All products follow a logical product life cycle and it is vital for marketers to understand and plan for the various stages and their unique challenges.

·      Price:- How much do you charge and how does that impact how your customers view your brand?

covers the actual amount the end user is expected to pay for a product. How a product is priced will directly affect how it sells. This is linked to what the perceived value of the product is to the customer rather than an objective costing of the product on offer. If a product is priced higher or lower than its perceived value, then it will not sell. This is why it is imperative to understand how a customer sees what you are selling.

·      Place: Where do you promote your product or service? Where do your ideal customers go to find information about your industry?

Place or placement has to do with how the product will be provided to the customer. Distribution is a key element of placement. The placement strategy will help assess what channel is the most suited to a product. How a product is accessed by the end user also needs to compliment the rest of the product strategy.

·      Promotion: How do your customers find out about you? What strategies do you use, and are they effective?

The marketing communication strategies and techniques all fall under the promotion heading. These may include advertising, sales promotions, special offers and public relations. Whatever the channel used, it is necessary for it to be suitable for the product, the price and the end user it is being marketed to.

Integrated digital marketing is, as it sounds, the integration of multiple marketing strategies to form a cohesive online approach for your business. Here’s what it typically entails:

·        web development and design

·        search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM)

·        content marketing

·        social media marketing

·        local listings management

·        paid advertising (or pay-per-click advertising) campaigns

Integrated Digital Marketing encompasses the idea of creating a unique form of expression that’s easy to identify in all of the channels that your customer uses. It’s like using a single language to speak in different situations. That means it’s a strategy that blends all your marketing tactics. Then, each campaign and approach complement each other, creating a consistent image on the mind of the users and tracing a journey for them to go on. By being consistent, you can become memorable to your audience. But integrated Digital Marketing also means having a well-structured and well-defined marketing plan. That includes taking care of the online presence by managing different channels of the digital world.

The idea behind integrated digital marketing is that, while each individual strategy doesn’t have a huge impact on its own, when used in conjunction, you can create a more influential online presence.

Integrated marketing is the key to success for any brand. The effect is massive, and the process is enjoyable and full of learning.

The Evolution of Personal Branding

The process of personal branding involves finding your uniqueness, building a reputation on the things you want to be known for, and then allowing yourself to be known for them. Ultimately, the goal is to create something that conveys a message and that can be monetized.
